I did F45 3-6 days a week for just over a month, and here are my honest thoughts! First off, if you’re not familiar with F45 it is team training based, so much is familiar from soccer growing up, but the best comparison I could give you is if CrossFit and orange theory had a baby? Think stations of workouts, timers on screens, and variations between cardio and lifting days.
I go to the studio that just opened up down the road from us, and I’m obsessed. It’s newer so I got to do the foundation membership which is $20 for two weeks to try out all the classes, and then $35 a week from there on. If you have a studio near you I’m pretty sure you can do a week for whatever deposit the studio sets it at, and try out as much as possible before signing up. Another great way to try new things is Class Pass, it was all messed up during Covid I couldn’t book into things, but I think you’re able to book in again!
So some things to note! There’s a warm up they suggest getting there 10 minutes before, and they go through all the stations quickly to show you how things work / variations in movements. The trainers are all over the room so if you’re confused or don’t remember a workout they can come help you, or offer other modifications. The original workout stays on the screen in front of you! You rotate through stations and sometimes stay in a specific pod, or go throughout the room it just depends on the workout! F45 has 45 minute workouts, the weekend class on Saturday is a hybrid of cardio and lifting so that one is an hour, but I typically just try to go to classes Monday-Friday since my schedule is so crazy, and every other day is cardio or lifting, other than the Saturday one at my location!
I think the scariest thing was my starting point, I had been workout out, but not conditioned / strong with cardio, but within a week or two I was already adjusting feeling more conditioned and in the swing of things. I think honestly, the first few are your hardest, and I don’t think cardio gets easier, because you can push yourself as much or as little as you want within the workout, and I’m still working on timing. If you have more questions I can always break things down more, I’m obsessed with F45 and can’t wait to continue 🤍 I can also do a sit down video, before I try workouts or new studios I look online what people write and what info I can find!
Also, this set I love wearing this set for cardio days, long line sports bras are my jam! This one is from Stronger, you can use my code ‘MEGANS20’ to get some $$ off when you’re shopping on their site, click here: https://www.strongerlabel.com/us/
