Here’s everything you need to know about tanning! I want to break down for you the difference / pros and cons of spray tanning, bed tanning, and self tanning! I’ve done them all, and I wish there was something like this for me to read before I embarked on my tanning journey!

Spray Tans…

Spray tans are usually a machine or person, spraying you with a formula that tans your skin! You usually have to wait 24 hours before showering and rinsing the tan off, but IMO this is the safest and most accurate way to apply tan! Having someone else means they see every inch, and a sprayer (person or machine) will ensure it goes on evenly! In Denver, I’ve only ever gotten spray tanned by Amber Spray Tans, and I loved it! Here’s her IG… @Amberspraytans One con I found with this method was that the tan can be super strong/noticeable at first, so if you’re getting it done, make sure you have a few days before your event/trip!

Bed Tans…

Beds are the WORST method for you, it’s dangerous, it’s known to be risky, and to me, it’s addicting to get the heat and warmth in the Winter. BUT, this is the fastest method when you’re in a pinch, and you don’t want to transfer it onto clothing. I highly advise you really dive into risk factors, and make sure it’s something you’re comfortable with before starting. I went to bed tanning salons a lot in high school, and I know I have skin damage, and I put myself at unnecessary risk… for a tan. I suggest this method, as a LAST RESORT, and very little if never.

Self Tans…

Self-tanners are super easy to find, it’s cheaper than a spray tan, it’s safer than a bed tan, and it’s just a great place to start if you’re new. Youtubers make videos all the time on how to apply, where to start, methods, tips, tricks, prodcuts & more. I posted a video recently I’ll leave down below that might be helpful as well! Fav brands are Bali Body, Loving Tan, and Coco and Eve. They all have similar smells, foaming product, and similar application when using a mit. Honestly, do your research on what’s right for you, but these are great beginner products IMO!
